Camino FCU sponsors Montebello Girls Ponytail Softball Association
March 14, 2009 – MONTEBELLO, Calif. – Camino Federal Credit Union is sponsoring the Montebello Girls Ponytail Softball Association team, Iron Butterflies, a 10 and under team. The team is made up of local Montebello girls who play softball at Grant Rea Park each week and are members of the community. Camino FCU was able to purchase each of the girls their own regulation helmet with their number on it. Additionally, each girl was offered a free membership to Camino.
“We approached Camino because we’ve been Credit Union members here for several years and we hoped to involve them in the community,” said Gary and Shirley Kim, Team Manager and Team Mom. “We took the team so that the girls have a good experience. We want them to learn and grow to be better softball players. The helmets that Camino purchased is something that each of the girls can have for the rest of their softball careers.”
The Ponytail League serves as an introduction to the exciting game of Fast Pitch softball. The Ponytail League Program is for girls 16 and under, and Montebello has teams for all ages. Ponytail uses an 11 inch softball and the girls are taught the fundamentals of the game. All games are umpired by local youths.
Team Iron Butterfly is composed of the following members:

About Camino Federal Credit Union
Camino Federal Credit Union is a member-owned financial cooperative serving employees of the Montebello Unified School District, as well as area community groups.
A credit union’s operating philosophy is different from a bank’s. Banks are closely held corporations that exist to make money for their stockholders. Credit unions, on the other hand, are financial cooperatives, owned entirely by their members. Our goal is not to create profit but to provide the best possible financial services at the lowest possible costs.
After paying our operating expenses, we return our "profit" to the members in the form of lower loan rates and higher savings yields. We are committed to providing exceptional service as well, paying personal attention to your needs and making sure that you always receive the greatest value when doing business with us.
One of the most important things about Camino Federal Credit Union is that we are part of the community. We are owned by people who live, work, worship and attend school with you. We are your friends and neighbors, and we share your goal of improving the quality of life for all.
